[Q1] Provide the Ban link or if none, the reason
Link: Ban
[Q2] Did you break the rules knowingly?
I met someone on the server, and I wanted to start a new world with them. I created the world, and I got an IP (127.0.0.0:777). I told him the IP, and immediately got banned. Before I realised that, I did a bit of searching and realised that the 127 IP thing doesn’t work and nobody can join it, so I tried to go back to Terraria and tell him “hey, I got the wrong IP” but I got banned.
[Q3] Do you think your Ban was fair? If not, please provide a reason.
I don’t think so in all honesty really. I was simply looking for somebody to play on a new server with, and I feel like getting banned for that is a bit unfair. I made the simple mistake of forgetting to use /w and I got banned for that, which (I understand where I went wrong) I think is a little harsh..
[Q4] Why should we unban you?
It was a simple mistake, happens to the best of us, and I wasn’t really trying to advertise to anyone else, I just wanted to tell my friend which server to join

I also forgot to mention that the rule I broke was S1#10, whoops!

Well, be careful in general since the filter is fairly aggressive with character strings that even slightly look like a foreign IP address.
Can you read the rules and quote the rule(s) you broke? Do this in a new reply, don’t edit your appeal. If you do not know how to quote the rules, read the guide How to quote the rules.
If you do not identify the right rule(s) that you broke or you do not know which ones you broke, I can make it clear.

This was the rule that I broke:
#10 Advertising
Publicly displaying, trying to display or sending anything closely related to a foreign IP or domain is forbidden. This includes IPv6, IPv4 and local network IP addresses. If you want to tell friends of another server, use “/w” to chat to the player directly. It is still a violation if you use /w
or other commands to send out foreign IP addresses or domains as a way of bypassing public chat for advertising purposes. You are allowed to advertise a domain such as “youtube.com” as it is already commonly known and not directly associated with the content and environment of our servers.
Terraria versions are exempt from this rule (even though they are valid IPv4 addresses) so long as they are being used as versions and someone does not actually have this IP address to advertise, this includes past versions and potential future versions within reason, as well as misspellings of these versions.

- Yeah, I forgot to use /w, classis mistake.
- Yea I can, by using /w to tell someone a string and being careful with strings that look like foreign IP addresses.
- Yea, I agree to NOT break the same rules in the future.
