[Q1] Provide the Ban link or if none, the reason
Link: Ban
[Q2] Did you break the rules knowingly?
no, I used the name “nigg” which directly refers to my family, And a moderator said he warned me, but he warned me in a language I’m not fluent in and I got banned because of it
[Q3] Do you think your Ban was fair? If not, please provide a reason.
It wasn’t, they warned me in a language I’m not fluent in and I got banned because of it.
[Q4] Why should we unban you?
I didn’t do anything wrong, and I got banned for using a normal name for Brazilians, receiving warnings in another language
If that’s true, I’m sorry for making assumptions. The server is predominantly English (self included) and “nigg” is the first 4 letters out of 5 or 6 that’s a very common English slur used for insults and especially for insulting black people. That being said, though, I did also search “nigg Brazilian name” on Google after reading over the appeal and the first result was a list of slurs, so I don’t know how to verify that. Maybe I just didn’t search for the right thing.
I understand that I made a mistake, even if it was unintentional, but am I really going to get banned because of something unintentional like that? I don’t have a problem with changing my name or something like that,But there wasn’t anyone actually telling me to keep an eye on the warnings to avoid getting banned.
Players aren’t kicked from the server randomly, the reason lists why. Sometimes it’s something going wrong on the server (e.g. “added buff to NPC abnormally” used to be a common one), other times it’s manually sent out by a staff member, in which case they can set the kick reason to whatever the reason the kick was for. Both times I kicked you I gave specific instructions saying “change your name”, which is why checking is important. Especially since it happened twice in a row.
The big problem is that I don’t speak English, and no one who could help me was there, I didn’t know that it was wrong to use my name for the English language,But if the big problem is my name, I’ll change it. It’s not a problem for me, but if someone on the server had the slightest bit of empathy, this problem could have been avoided.
Once again, I’m sorry for the language barrier. I wasn’t checking too often for some other language to accommodate for, I just saw the name and went to handle it according to the rules, which came up to where we are now.
I’ll try to be more accommodating in the future, even if it’s just a translator since there’s no way I’d be able to learn even 1 of the more common languages on here quickly for work. In the meantime, the rules are still meant to be upheld.
Would you like to continue now that we’ve had that all discussed? That warnings and such will be issued even if you can’t understand them?
I understand that I made a mistake and went against the rules, and I apologize for that even though it wasn’t intentional, You can continue to issue warnings in other languages, but please give me a signal so I can translate them myself. Will I be allowed to access the server again?
Keep an eye out for the kick message in the future, the server always shows a message like I showed previously (but with a different part after reason). If you’re playing something on the server, you might notice that things start to break due to being disconnected, e.g. you can break things in protected regions, or players stand still or just run off in one direction even if it wouldn’t make sense. If that happens, check chat to see if you something comes up that disconnected you for whatever reason, like a kick message.
Can you read the rules and quote the rule(s) you broke? Do this in a new reply, don’t edit your appeal. If you do not know how to quote the rules, read the guide How to quote the rules.
If you do not identify the right rule(s) that you broke or you do not know which ones you broke, I can make it clear.
