Just an idea.
OR maybe a system that changes all-caps messages into normal lower-case messages.
(far too many have been banned because of this lol)
(who even invented the idea of putting “caps caps” at the end of messages in the first place anyway?)
(this suggestion is a bit of a joke)
Not really sure but I think more and more people saw other people doing it (and didn’t see them getting banned) so they thought it was okay. I did that at one point but I stopped when Madeira told me it was against the rules. Good idea
We can also continue to rely on the individual called popstarfreas who stalks you and your chat histo- I mean, watches you while you play on the server within a reasonable boundary.
I think a great enough example has been made out of the bans that there’s not even enough people violating this rule anymore for this to be worth the effort tbh
So, he saw me go far, far out of bounds when I went to the Moon Lord arena; getting passed the “Code Wall” on the right and exploring the world boundaries…?
He sees everything. Especially the dreaded “caps caps”.
That’s certainly something… So that’s why I was webbed when I went too far to the left, way under the arena… It was really fun to explore that place! Also, I was webbed a bit ways into the Crimson.
You’re allowed to do that in PvE.
Just refrain from going near the ML arena like that, because it interferes with ML aggro which is a pain.
FYI, the area under the ML region automatically inflicts the webbed debuff.
That’s good to know. I really love exploring hidden parts of the server! I did find around 3 floating NPC’s… I believe it was the Wizard, the Arms Dealer and someone else…
Ah, guessing I got too close then
If you want to explore the PvE dimension, I recommend you use /tpnpc
. It’s a command that allows you to teleport to any NPC.
I’ll keep that in mind! I also found what looks to be a Plantera and Golem arena
They were banned for a reason, this suggestion covers up that reason, I don’t see why it should be implemented
Uh… wouldn’t it just be telling them not to do it from now on or else they would be banned? That’s not ban evasion at all.
I didn’t see this in the original suggestion
Also, if this suggestion was implemented, they could literally just use other texts
I think the intention would tell them just not to evade the caps rule at all, if they continue to do so they would be banned like normal
Or give them a much needed reminder in the chat that tells them they cannot use all caps. I haven’t seen the current message it gives when you speak in all caps…
In regards to regulations like the one being proposed here, I prefer that they not be implemented.
This suggestion is in the same category as other restrictive measures including command cooldowns, chat cooldowns, chat censors, etc.
All players should be expected to be reasonable and prudent, and some rules should be implicitly understood. (You should not have to be told that writing in caps, spamming, exploiting, etc is bad.)
Besides, most players do follow chat rules. As far as I know, all offenders are duly punished, and this is not a pressing issue. Therefore, I do not think there is any exigence that demands the implementation of preemptive measures like the one which is suggested here.
That is their fault then.
Concerning the titular suggestion, I do expect this:
However, if a warning is to be implemented, and nothing else, I am fine with it. It is not restrictive, and at the very most, it is only a minor visual nuisance
Some item IDs have repeating numbers.
That’s when they get banned. They know caps evasion’s consequences and still do it, so it’s their fault they got banned.
Also, this suggestion could include a repeating chat announcement that gets posted every 2 minutes or so in Survival chat that warns against caps rule violation.
