Sometimes if there’s enough rule breakages without any extra action then a ban’s put up so that the offending player could go check the rules to learn why. In that sense, the ban is kind of a warning even if it’s not the same as a verbal warning, since to rejoin the server conventionally you’d go through the appeal process.
