I had an old account here on dg but lost access to my old computer which had the acc. I think I remember there being some rule about not allowing two accounts from the same ip or something and I just wanted to check before I register this account in-game.

There is a rule about alt accounts.

#1 Multiple Accounts

Multiple Accounts are forbidden. You are only permitted one account per person. Our experience only facilitates a person having a single account. Duplicate accounts will be deleted, and violation of this rule after a warning will result in a Ban. The player does not get to choose which account is considered the primary account.

But if you can’t recover the account/password for it, you can ask the staff to remove that account or change the password of it so you can make a new one.
(At least i’m pretty sure)

I might remember the password to my old acc but i’d have to try. Do you know if I would be able to change my username if I was able to recover it?

Yea u can change ur username even while you’re playing on the server
Just use “/rename [character name]” in chat and it should work (:

Also if you remember the password to your account. You can rename the current character you’re using and change it to the original account’s name in order to login that way! :D,

ok uhm
I was able to log into my old account
I can’t seem to get the /rename command to work no matter how hard I try :c

1. the first time I use it nothing happens - my name stays the same
2. the second time I use it it DOES change my name but logs me out of my account, thinking I’m a guest
3. and the change is never permanent, I still have to use my old account :c

should I just ask to delete my old acc? is that even possible?

and sorry if this all seems like a hassle, I just want to change my account name for personal reasons ()

That is really weird.

I’ll go look around and see if that’s a common problem
And also i’m pretty sure deleting old accounts is against the rules. But i don’t know that for sure.

/rename just change you name to the right one (if you already have a acc on server)

You can also request an account rename. However, it will only be acknowledged when necessary. For example, if you don’t like your account name, if you want to change it just for fun, or something else; your account rename request will not be acknowledged. However an account renaming will be acknowledged if the name of your account is…

• too long (obscures chat)
• has too many repeating characters (3 max)
• violates the rules in section 1, such as the caps and profanity rule
• causes otherwise technical difficulties, such as DTP errors and chat errors

If your name meets these conditions,

1. Follow UUID Login to verify your identity. If you are unable to login, then we cannot help you, sorry. You can create a new account if you wish.
2. If you haven’t already, sign up for a forums account and log in.
3. Then, message staff for an account rename.

You can not change your username this way. /rename exists solely to be used by guests to rename their current character to the appropriate username so they can login
