[Q2] Did you break the rules knowingly?
I did not break the rules knowingly.

[Q3] Do you think your Ban was fair? If not, please provide a reason.
I do not think the ban was fair, because I typed out a fake IP address, and I got automatically banned for advertising a server IP, which is not what I did at all.

[Q4] Why should we unban you?
So the context is there was some random person named delulu being rude in chat, and I wanted to troll them. I called him a Dr. Disrespect (which doesn’t have a good meaning but isn’t why I got banned), which led them to respond. They said something along the lines like “stfu hacker you aint hacking shit” (my title was Hacker). I tried to respond with a fake IP address to mess with the person, but instead I got banned for “advertising”. It happened as soon as I pressed enter, so I assume the ban was automatic. I think it thought I was trying to advertise a server on Terraria, which I absolutely was not doing. Dark Gaming is the only Terraria server I am playing on as of 7/11/2024, so there wouldn’t even be a reason to advertise a server anyway.

TL;DR : The server automatically flagged me for advertising a server IP, when I said random numbers sequenced like an IP to make someone look bad for making fun of my Hacker title.

The server’s anti - advertising filter is fairly strict which is why it came up. Most strings of characters connected to look like a foreign IP address will get you instantly banned, even if said IP addresses don’t actually do anything. Just keep that in mind for the future, yeah?

Okay, I have read over all of the rules of the server. I see that anything that could possibly be an IP address cannot be said in chat, unless it is about a version of Terraria. I read the rest of the rules too so I can avoid having to get banned in general.

  1. I understand why, advertising in the chat can be a disruptive experience for people on the other end, so the server must prevent this from happening in any circumstance.
  2. Yes, I should not say anything that is related to an IP address, whether or not I am trying to advertise something.
  3. I agree to not break this rule in the future.
  4. I understand the consequences if I break these rules again.
