what does it mean by connecting from a server?? i’m trying to figure out how to connect and i feel like that’s kind of vague…

Connecting from a server means school/uni/work wifi and mall/shop/restaurant wifi.

Connecting from a server is a vague definition. Whether an IP address is considered a server or not is up for debate. However, as a general rule of thumb, “server” means an enterprise-level network rented by someone to host websites/terraria servers/other kinds of services on.
These also include:
- Proxies(e.g. NordVPN, ProtonVPN, Cloudflare WARP)
- Gaming Servers(technically proxies) such as GeForce NOW
Whether an IP address is considered a server or not is up for debate
Because of this some IPs may be misflagged as servers
