I am at the moment collecting info if the players who were scammed by angler have used any permanent boost items from shimmer on their characters.
Scammed users who had not used shimmer boosters: 3
Only reply to the poll if you were scammed by angler, try to provide evidence that you were scammed.

From what i can tell (as i loose 100% of stuff i fish up due to anti cheat) the angler thing is just because of people either getting an extra bonus item or getting a 1.4.4 item so it just cancels the quest being handed in and returns your quest fish.
Just out of interest is there anyone else who just cannot fish and gets every single item stolen from them or is it just me. As the topic is related to angler quests ill just put a poll here as it is a similar topic.

What i mean by the title is are you able to fish, like, at all or are 100% of fished items removed from your inventory.

Rose and sonjay has experienced the same thing as you, godlybread, in the last few runs. However, Rose can fish as normal now, maybe sonjay too. I am not really sure how that has changed, but Rose might offer some insights hopefully.
I have no idea how i suddenly able to fish again so. I have same character who has perma buffs. But i think creating new character same name who has not buff will work i think?
also i think u forgor about 1.4.4 food bought from skele merch that increases workstations range
