it was when shamans could heal too and hp was not reset every round. IT was very powerful but also very fun

Just to be clear, it’s not set in stone yet, it can still come back if you rework it properly. However, this suggestion has multiple flaws(that everyone mentioned) so it’s unlikely this version of shaman will be accepted, but it’s not completely impossible for another version of shaman to be implemented if it gets enough traction

Well, the intention was that the more you upgrade the harder it becomes to upgrade (it scales with HP). When the ability itself upgrades it takes more health away making it easier to reach the upgrade goal. Of all the abilities, this one is still fairly strong, the impact it has is clear and it very rarely has negatives besides the person using it having less active health.
The only thing I would say is that in the later rounds it seems less worth focusing on using it unless the people you’re playing with are up for waiting. But then maybe by that point, its job is already done.
