I don’t know what the specific timing window is, but if you edit the post very quickly after posting it, it doesn’t show as an edit to the actual post. Did you just add the “(Maybe it will work this time)” very shortly after publishing the original post?

The Edit was shortly after, but the “Maybe it will work this time” was added at least 10 minutes afterwards.
