I agree we were getting off topic in the other post, I do believe we are talking about 2 very different instances of the “Stoned” debuff.
So, you’re talking about when you join the server you die, or turn to stone as the precaution.
I’m talking about where the glitch goes the other way, and it does. You login to survival, you turn to stone and you stay stone. You can afk for 30 minutes, come back and still stone. (Tested this once inadvertently by logging on and then needing to afk for real life stuff.) But you can not move, or act unless you logoff and log back in.
I think that’s why we were confusing each other. LOL!
Now that you’ve clarified the nature of the issue you’ve dealt with, I now see the difference between what you and I are talking about.
I have no clue what’s causing your issue. If I were to take a shot in the dark, I think the server might not recognize your member status in the occasion where you experience this issue. You’ve only just made an account recently, did you?
Nah. It happens to a ton of people. I only recently started being active on forums. I’ve been around DG for years. I do believe you are correct on the issue though.
Normally the server stones and then kills you as you change to your SSC in Survival. Getting permastoned is when it somehow doesn’t end the stone buff when you die, or re-applies it. It’s probably not related to not being a member, since Guests are kicked from the dimension entirely.
In the case a guest does get into the Survival dimension, they do get perma-stoned. That’s how it was before guests were barred from entering Survival.
I was wondering something about this as well @Madofado. It’s not always, but sometimes whenever I get this glitch. I will relog and DG will overwrite my actual character file. I know that sounds weird but I’ll explain.
My character Khaladin, before my first playthrough of Survival was in end-game gear. I have a solo world for him.
So whenever I get this bug, I will logout and everything is good. But. Sometimes if I have this bug and try typing. My game will crash. Whenever I enter back into the game, I am wearing my survival gear and not my actual character gear. (Disheartening losing farmed zenith and terraprisma good thing we have items.) It’s not a big deal. I just think it’s interesting. Right now my Khaladin character has on gear outside of survival that I had on Tuesday or yesterday? It happened just within the last couple days again.
I resolved this issue by not playing Khal in solo worlds anymore.
I really feel like it is. Lol. It’s just so weird to see it happen. And they never synchronize or anything to that degree. It just overwrites sometimes. That’s why I’m inclined to agree with you. The funny thing is. I rarely crash when I type a message, and if I do normally playing nothing happens. It’s only if I crash while I’m perma-stoned and I’m typing a message that it overwrites the character. So it makes it really hard for me to duplicate this issue. I may just record video for a solid month to see if I can catch it. LOL!
Like Madofado, I’ve also had my non-SSC loadout overwritten by my SSC loadout. I’m pretty sure that every player that has played Survival for a while has experienced this.
To deal with this, you could always rely on /loadout to backup your non-SSC loadout. Alternatively, you could also manually backup your character in the game files just in case anything weird happens.
I do believe you are correct on the issue though.
