How Do You Reply to a Post by Email?

For the sake of obtaining the achievement, how exactly does one perform this?
I have read threads via email before, but when I attempt to respond, I am directed to a link bringing me to this website. After being directed to this website, I would subsequently create a post; despite this, I was never rewarded the achievement for replying to a post via email.
