Fun Questions!

In here you should post questions that people will enjoy answering, or answer those questions.
I’ll start off: What actually are brains/minds/conciousnesses, how and why do they exist?

My guess would be something as a result of their formation coming about from the Big Bang, at least in some capacity. We are all the same stuff that makes up stars when boiled down to bare minimum, after all.

Neuron reactions in your brain, which make you “think” through millions of processes.

(incredibly vague description because I’m not entirely sure either)

Why? Because it would be better if you could perceive stuff, knowing which things are which and where you should go, in order to pass on your genes.

How? Well I don’t really know but here’s a possible way :

Bilateral Symmetry

Something to note is that complex consciousness/brains only exists in Bilaterians. This is because of the body plan. Because Bilaterians are the way they are, it would make no sense to have two openings for food and waste, and because of this, one side is favored for food, and the other for waste. This causes a trend in the location of your neurons (nerve cells)

Neuron Collection

The side that eats food also needs to know where the food is. Let’s take eyes for example.

Light - Sensitive Cells

Along with ears and smell, cells that were light sensitive would randomly come into place, and eventually they would evolve to send messages to the body parts and stuff to know where to not go and where to go. This would prompt for two things :

  • Better light-sensitive cells, which could possibly perceive color
  • More and more nerves popping up in the front to make more sense of what to do

Communicative Neurons

Neurons may randomly mutate to have additional pathways; possibly to other neurons. This is what causes a brain. Since the neurons can now communicate with each other in a fast and reliable way, the brain could take more information in. Remember, these are just neurons. Essentially they are just a bunch of if statements.

Consciousness

The last stage of this, Consciousness, arises very simply, because, animals need a way to know where their prey is at all times. Without consciousness, then you would completely forget that an animal ever existed if it hides behind a rock. This is why groups of neurons would evolve to just change the way they connect when they are told to do so. When the thing that tells them is outside information, the brain could use that to retrieve the information whenever it’s needed by simply looking at the connections (via a lot of neurons). This causes you to remember what is what, so you won’t be tempted to bite yourself before you make sense of yourself.

Imagination

This also may seem complicated, but it’s really not. Basically, if neurons were able to think up things from the inside, then they’d be able to try to look for that thing, and eventually find it. This just involves the cause for neurons connecting to be from other neurons rather than outside information. It would need some outside information to work, for example if you wanted to make a roller coaster out of wooden blocks, then you’d first need information on what even is a wooden block, but other than that it’d work. It likely evolved when mammals needed to find shelter to hide from predators back in the Mesozoic.

You may ask why are our brains much smarter than other mammals? Because as primates, we needed to imagine, predict, design, and solve puzzles in the trees.

Impossible colors. I think there’s an interesting wikipedia article on this:

RGB vs RYB and why White and Black aren’t colors

You’ve probably been thought Red/Yellow/Blue are the primary colors. This is true to an extent, they’re the primary colors of Paint, not universal primary colors.

On the contrary, most screens use Red/Green/Blue as primary colors.

Okay but, mixing RYB should produce white like RGB right? Well it depends on your context, in real life, objects have color because they “absorb” other colors, while screens have color because they “emit” light.

Absorption and emission, why does this matter? Well, blackness exists because of a lack of light while white is the complete opposite, it exists because of an abundance of color. IRL where Absorption dominates, black exists because an object absorbs all colors, white exists because an object reflects all colors. In a screen context, white exists because it emits all colors, while black exists as a darker shade of white. Since screens always emit light, #000000 is still white, just with bare minimum amount of color

tl;dr: RYB is used in paint and RGB in screens, because of this R + Y + B = black and R + G + B = white

How did you format this?

Brown is a shade of orange.

That doesn’t stop it from being a color, as it still has its own lightness

Additive Color Models:

  • RGB - Red, Green, Blue

Subtractive Color Models:

  • RYB - Red, Yellow, Blue
  • CMY - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow
  • CMYK - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key (Black)

Shades of colors are also colors themselves; they’re composite colors to be precise.

Do you study this? or is learning about this a hobby?

I watch youtube videos, and half of that is guessing

I actually found out how you did it with this:

Apparently, you can view the raw of any post using this method.

you can also view the JSON of a topic

This only works on a topic basis though, if you try to view the JSON of a post you’ll get the same result
