Extraction Gamemode - The Basics

This gamemode is still under development. Things might be added/removed/rebalanced at any time

I have avoided being too specific in the guide so as to avoid outdated information for now.

Expeditions

In extraction your overall goal is to beat expedition 5 (currently), this is the final expedition and how you win a run.

Expeditions are randomly generated caves with gold ore and several rooms. Due to a limitation of the game, your map is likely to already be revealed, to account for this some parts of the caves will not be sent to your client until you explore a bit more.

Objectives

Each expedition has a quota, this is how much cargo you must collect as a team in order to be able to do the next expedition. Cargo can be collected by mining gold (1 cargo per gold) or collecting it from chests in rooms around the caves.

Each expedition after 1 has a second mission objective. This must be achieved on top of quota.

You collect the quota and achieve any second mission objective and then go to the extraction point. Quota is for the whole team not per player, so two players can collect half the quota each and extract. However, if you extract with half of quota and someone else who has the other half dies before extracting, you lose.

Rewards

Credits

Completion of quota rewards everyone 100 credits. Each surplus cargo above quota rewards 2.5 credits.

Equipment

You may find equipment on an expedition, this is permanent so long as you make it out alive or if you die, then if someone takes your stuff from your death chest and extracts.

Upgrade Tokens

Each class is assigned a job per expedition, different classes have different jobs than others, so some rooms will be useless for you. Completing your job rewards 50 credits and grants an upgrade token. This can be used in the shop for class specific upgrades such as to your passive ability.

Jobs are optional and thus you do not need to do them to win.

Shop

Before expedition 1 and in between the rest, you will get a chance to use your credits in the shop. There you can upgrade and obtain new gear. Doing so is essential for keeping up with the difficulty of expeditions.

Death and Revival

If you die, at your place of death will be placed a chest. This chest represents your collected cargo and any equipment you gained on the current expedition. You get 2 revives before you are lost (unrevivable) on that expedition. Once you are lost, players can still use your chest to collect your stuff and extract, returning it to you for the next expedition and including any cargo you collected to the surplus/quota.

If you are playing solo, you get one free auto-revive per expedition.

Classes

There are 4 classes:

Melee

Starts with Flesh Knuckles: +8 defense, +400 aggro.
Revives other players faster.
Grants Endurance buff to nearby players who are carrying objectives or repairing objectives.

Ranger

Maintains Night Owl buff during expeditions.
Marks visible enemies nearby every so many seconds.
Marks last a few seconds and add bonus damage from crew attacks after armor and critical damage.

Mage

Routine enemies and pursuit waves are blocked nearby.
Walking into an imminent spawn relocates it.
Magic hits interrupt armed guards.
Room guardians are not affected by wave spawn protection/relocation.

Summoner

Nearby repairs are faster.
Heals nearby crew every few seconds.
Summon and whip damage charges a Repair Pulse with a cooldown.
