This thread will contain all the information you need to know regarding Dimensions. And further posts will be on updates to Dimensions. This is not a discussion thread, and is purely for information/updates.
What is Dimensions?
Since its release, everyone who has connected to any of the DG servers has actually been connecting to Dimensions. The purpose of Dimensions is to provide a flexible connection without client modifications. This has been done before, but never in this way on a public server. Simply put, by connecting to the Dimensions server rather than directly to the Terraria Server, Dimensions can change which Terraria Server your packets are routed to and can help your client with the connection process that it is otherwise unable to complete to switch Terraria Servers on its own.
How do I get it for my own server?

What commands does Dimensions expose?
As Dimensions is simply routing/inspecting data that is sent, there are a limited number of commands available.
/dimensions
This command will list all available Dimensions to switch to, including the one you’re on.
/players
This command will list all the players on the current Dimensions instance. Usually this will include every player, but not always.
/join {gametype}
This command will parse the gametype you enter (Zombies, FFA, CTG, TDM). If you enter a gametype that is not hosted by the current Dimension, it will automatically switch Dimension and auto-join that gametype. In the case that the gametype is available on the current Dimension, the Terraria Server will process this command instead, which will auto-join a public lobby for that gametype.
Dimensional Warpplates
On most of the Dimensions available, there are also warpplates that will switch Dimensions for you. When going to the “/warp boss” on Main/Mirror, at that location is a warpplate that takes you to the PvE/Boss Dimension. The server spawn will most likely be reconstructed to use these warpplates more effectively.
