Zombies has a lot of abilities, most being needed to get to farther rounds, especially with that round 20 moon lord. Here’s a very rough guide on abilities and how good I think they are. Remember when using abilities, you get a 1.25x upgrade cost (1.75x for sentry). Remember that this is my opinion, and I expect people to very well disagree.
- S = Very good early game, and scales well late game.
- A = Good early game, scale isn’t as good as S but still useful in most situations.
- B = These abilities are alright, but are outdone by S tiers and A tiers.
- C = These abilities mostly come handy if you’re very good with the skill or in very specific situations.
- D = These abilities have either a super hard learning curve or are barely used in situations.
S Tiers
Telekinesis
- S Tier
Telekinesis grants a lot abilities for players that scales very well, being usable in lots of situations.
This ability makes it so that when you input the certain commands, you will activate one of the Telekinesis powers.
Telekinesis has W-W, for pulling enemies torward you. S-S will push enemies away from you (WARNING: Be careful as to not push enemies into your teammates). S-W grants a small boost upwards, being usable midair. Either A-A or D-D will grant a boost in that direction.
When Telekinesis levels up, it increases the pull in strength, the push out strength, the boosts upward and the dash strength.
Shaman
- S Tier
Shaman grants you the ability to temporarily damage some of your teammates to be able to boost their max HP. Also grants life regen when near the shaman.
Commands: W-W will steal health from other teammates to fuel the next HP upgrade
S-W will increase max HP when threshold is reached.
Increased life regen will take place passively.
This ability scales very well on maps where the life chest is either very expensive for lots of HP, or grants low HP for higher cost, such as Hill House.
Time Warp
- S Tier
Time Warp grants the ability to pause time or warp yourself and your HP back in time, allowing you to find a safe spot when needed, or simply get your health back.
Commands: S-S will rewind you back a couple seconds, including your HP. W-S will stop time. When you stop time, you also gain an increase in speed, but your teammates will have slower speed.
Upgrade will increase the duration of the time stop.
A Tiers
Sentry
- A Tier
Sentry is a good early game pick, but the 1.75x cost really hits hard.
Commands: W-S will switch your chosen Sentry. S-S will place a sentry. W-W will upgrade a sentry, or in the case of the Bank, will deposit score (Sadly, you can’t choose the amount you deposit. At least I believe so.
Sentry Uses:
Minigun: Does exactly what it says. Has a minigun, and as it gets upgraded does more damage, gets better ammo, and faster attack speed.
Sniper: Has a sniper rifle, and does high damage with slower speed. Upgrading it will increase its attack speed slightly, and increase its damage. (Tip: Fully upgraded snipers can take one whole spawn point by themselves.)
Emitter: Does not attack on its own, but any enemy near it gets the Confused debuff and the Ichor debuff. Upgrades will make it have a larger range.
Nade: Slowly throws explosives. Upgrades will make it do more damage and throw explosives faster.
Bank: Deposit money in the bank to get 30% interest on the invested score. If a sentry gets killed, the money put into it gets put into the bank. If the bank dies, all the score is given to you. (Double Banking will not be part of this ranking, as it is technically an exploit.)
Tank: A very strong sentry that, as the name implies, tanks. It’s very useful to take aggro on enemies, as it has almost the most priority on enemies attacking it (Miniguns have flesh knuckles). Upgrading it will increase HP, damage, and defense.
Repair: Will use its own HP to repair other sentries. Upgrades increases its HP and its repair strength (at least i believe so)
Coward
- A Tier
Coward is a very good, yet less good scaling ability. Mostly used on levels like Shadow’s Descent, coward is a simple ability with a passive.
Whenever you reach 50% of your max HP, the ability will kick in and you’ll be teleported to the spawn. This ability scales well on harder maps, especially ones with traps or lava pits.
B Tiers
Barrage
- B Tier
Barrage is an ability that makes you attack nearby enemies with a horde of rockets. When using Barrage, you will be slowed with debuffs, and if you take damage, the barrage is stopped.
Command: Use S-S to activate Barrage.
Upgrades: When Barrage gets upgraded, it increases the barrage duration, the debuff duration, the rocket damage, the amount of rockets in the barrage, and the amount of streams the rockets come out of.
Dual Wield
- B Tier
Dual Wield makes you attack twice per attack. Pretty simple.
Commands: S-S makes you attack in two opposite directions, so if i attacked up, i would also attack down. If i attacked right, i would also attack left. Using W-W makes you attack in a V-shape, like a cone. S-W makes you attack in a tighter V-shape, perfect for if you want to just do more damage.
C Tiers
Valiant
- C Tier
Super hard to master, but is alright if used correctly. This ability, get this, needs to be unlocked by getting to round 11 (at least i believe, it may be a higher round now) without taking damage and while using Coward. Basically, valiant grants buffs the closer you are to enemies, but if you take damage, all the buffs are gone. On base tier, Valiant grants you Regeneration and Honey buffs when close to an enemy (like 5 blocks). On second tier, when three blocks away from an enemy, you gain the Life Drain buff. On third tier, around 2 blocks away from an enemy, you get the Rapid Healing buff. On fourth tier, when literally right next to an enemy (like a block away), you get the Life Nebula Buff.
Wish
- C Tier
Wish is unlocked by getting to round 16 on Shadow’s Descent, a very difficult map. Wish basically grants you either a positive or negative effect. Usually, wish will favor your current situation like if you’re low health, it heals you.
The good stuff wish can do is:
Add Max HP
Heal Yourself
Revive Someone
Grant HP Regen
Increase Damage
Move Speed Increase
There’s also bad things, which is partly why it’s a C tier.
Can Grant Debuffs
Deal Damage To Yourself
Kill A Teammate
Kill Yourself
Remove Armor Currently Equipped
Drop Weapon Currently Equipped
To make a wish, just use S-S.
D Tiers
Guardian
- D Tier
The Guardian is a really bad ability. For starters, you can’t spawn the guardian until round 4, which sucks. It scales terribly late game, cause enemies like Martians will demolish the Guardian. The upgrades increase health and damage of guardian, but it isn’t enough to withstand the insane damage of late round enemies.
Unusable
Reverent
- Possibly like a B-C tier
Reverent is not currently usable, but has an idea. Basically, it has the life regen of Shaman, but stronger. When healing allies, you start going insane, causing debuffs, and eventually harming teammates. If you’re not actively healing anyone, insanity will drain.
So that’s my sorta ok breakdown/tierlist of all the abilities. This is my own opinion, and as so, I don’t expect anyone to fully agree. But thanks for reading.
