The answer (I’m about 90% certain of this) is simple: Since photons have no mass, they require 0 energy to accelerate. This means that they should get everywhere at infinite speeds. Since they only get places at lightspeed, the speed of light must be the fastest anything can go.
Edit: I thought I would have a bunch of difficult questions, but I’m out of them, so I think I’ll just ask some later if I think of more

yeah light is a wave and a particle at once, and shares properties
the reason it dont have mass (correct me if im wrong), is that higgs bosons cannot hook onto photons or smth

Yeah, something like that. The God particle is what gives everything mass, and so since it can’t grab photons, they have no mass.
