Actually, this is not the case! I’ll explain:
When you smell like oranges, blue tiles are impassable! If you go onto a purple tile, you’ll smell like lemons, making the blue tiles passable.
If you have no scent, the piranhas will attack you as if you had the orange scent on!
The purple tile will wash away the orange scent and you will smell like lemons! If you step on an orange afterward, you will then smell like oranges!

Well, do you really expect to walk through piranha-infested waters without repelling them? The lemon scent, they dont like so they will avoid it. The orange scent will attract them to you. With no scent, they would automatically bite you either way

(To answer you below, you move into the next tile in the direction you’re moving when you touch a purple tile. Those 3 purple tiles can be ignored if you’re not moving onto them. Purple tiles don’t force you onto other purple tiles if they aren’t in the same direction you’re moving…)
On your path, you reach a purple tile. There’s two more purple tiles below that purple tile. Your supposed to slide on to it rather than just ignore it.
Ok lets say this in another way
The purple tile lets say that adds you speed, so like in real life, when you get aceleration, you go faster in the current direction that you are facing so the purple tiles is the same, you will slide into the tile that you have front considering where did you was facing…
So if you go right, and step a tile you will go to the right
