Mmm, Obsidian Armour.

For me, the biggest killer is the Inventory button. They moved it and then for some reason refused players the ability to move it back or move the inventory group at all. Similar situation with the Settings button. I can’t see why they were moved, I’ve never accidentally pressed one in all my time playing, now I have to take my thumb off the joystick, reach my hand to the top of the screen and press the button instead of just… tapping it while retaining the same hand position.

Also, the armour tab is absurd levels of cramped. Did they have to cram everything into columns of 5? It’s now impossible to tell accessory slots from vanity accessory slots from dye slots because the whole thing is just a mass of green squares.

YES EXACTLY

like bruh, let us fix this shit. I cant tell if I’m putting my eye bone in my head slot, my mount slot, or my fcking dyes. It’s so cramped and visually unappealing.

yez, lovin that speeeeeed

You honestly can’t expect me to rely on pure RNG to be able to play the game. Think about it. Slime staff=something needs to be killed, therefore requiring a weapon. Flinx staff? requires something dying. Snapthorn? same thing. Abigail’s Flower and Leather Whip? no way am I gonna play half of prehardmode without a single way of attacking.
Finch=shitty ai, so it’s gonna be my starter weapon. No reforges cuz if I find another finch staff, I have an incentive to use that finch staff instead.

oh, and dumb little thing, but I love the new minimap and cursor color options. That, and no more double trav merchant leaving messages and water animation is a lot smoother. Just… please dont mess with the controls, ok relogic?

I mean, to be fair:
-slimes can be farmed with lava
-flinxes can be farmed with lava
-snapthorn mats can be farmed with lava
-abigail’s flower can be obtained by dying a few times to create a graveyard then just clearing grass and stuff until the flower pops up (no dead things required apart from you, making it one of the cleanest weapons to obtain)
-leather whip can be mostly obtained by just running around touching critters and talking to NPCs, although if you get any of the other weapons through the listed methods it’ll probably speed things up big time (I forget if it was required to kill an enemy for 15% or not)

These options exist, hence why I’m not expecting you to rely on pure RNG to get going. Set up a grave or two to try and get the Flower while you seek out things to get the Zoologist to move in. It’s a sandbox game, after all, the only thing that could really threaten you that can’t be actively stopped by smart block usage are good ol’ worms. Just a thought to help potentially better use your time, since you’ll want Leather Whip for the early game beginnings with whip stacking anyways. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

it’s extremely tedious for all of them though, and I make my playthroughs for fun xD

wait this works?! wow, play 1.4 for 1.5 years and i somehow never knew this :desolate:

yeah miswording on my part, i dont like waiting lol, especially not in a playthrough where i wanna have fun, and where I can just get those as upgrades rather than ‘parkour every slime and vulture you see’ for who knows how long.

its basically impossible/post skeletron

flixs are very rare and only spawn on ores, so when you find one you might as well kill it with a lawnmower

perhaps you cant farm in jungle because its hard? it is FTWMM after all

no argument this is genieus

clearly not an SGM watcher smhh
Yeah, basically all whip functions stack. Hit an enemy with Snapthorn and Leather Whip and their respective tag damages are added together. Hit an enemy with Firecracker and Dark Harvest and the enemy will have both the dark energy effect and the fire explosion effect. And perhaps most importantly, hit an enemy with Snapthorn, Durendal and Dark Harvest and you’ll have all three’s melee speed buffs (albeit very temporarily, so it tends to be more worthwhile to use two).

Other summoner stuff you may or may not know of:
-the Sharpened buff (from Sharpening Stations found in Jungle cabins) applies to all damage dealt while holding a melee weapon, meaning you can hold a Copper Shortsword and give all your summons a good bit of armour penetration.

-further increasing the synergy between Summoner and Melee, the Harvest Time, Durendal’s Blessing and Jungle’s Fury melee speed buffs are incredibly overpowered when used with, say, Fetid Baghnakhs, or Terra Blade. Especially when the former is combined with Titanium Armour.

-mounts all deal Summon damage, meaning the Slimy Saddle, Ancient Horn and Toy Tank are all technically summons that just cost no mana and alter your mobility as a side effect (they even have their own cancellable buffs!)

-since the Flinx Robe is a single-piece set, you can use other armour pieces along with it, such as Shadow / Ancient Shadow for melee and movement speed, or Jungle / Molten for defense.

-Obsidian Armour is obtainable pre-boss, you literally just have to kill part of the EoW’s segments or the BoC’s Creepers (achievable legit or with Boulders / Explosives / Dynamite) and then bomb some obsidian.

No, not really. Just set up a sky platform with a volcano trap in the middle and you’ll get plenty of slimes. Alternatively, if you find a slime statue you can hook it up to a naturally occurring trap and use the player in a back-and-forth hoik “loop” to spam spawn. Or if you’ve farmed a few slimes for Gel you can also find Gold/Platinum and a Ruby (ores can be mined for or you can set up a fishing pool in the player zone of your sky farming platform, Rubies can be farmed via Gemcorns) and make a Slime Crown, set up a much larger lava trap and farm KS.

Don’t quite get it. Even if they’re rare, you can again set up a farm or just wait for natural spawns and douse them in lava—the fur will survive since it’s got a rarity above White.

Farming in the Jungle isn’t terribly hard. You can set up a volcano trap, you can once again douse things in lava, it’s just much harder without a dedicated farm or a weapon.

If you’re talking about the Leather Whip part, one word: Ningishu. Their 1.4 Hardcore Master pure summoner playthrough was incredible, just like all the rest.

i’m that guy who makes triple-purpose superfarms every multiplayer playthrough then fishes for an hour straight for every currently available potion fish before heading off to dynamite out a supersize arena with carefully-planned respawn and buff points whose use instructions are then explained in excessive detail to the server members (true story)
