You should really use your hook and sline mount a lot more.
It may seem tedious, but once you get used to it you’ll be able to dodge a lot more projectiles.
It is also great for developing muscle memory as you’ll run into a lot of more things when you’re using both. Also, switch your weapons often depending on your current situation and use more weapons in your hotbar.

here is something to try:
use /loadout load pwrwqscuffed. it’s janky and weird, try it, I have no experience in PVP but djin’s curse has 27 defence on here somehow.

  • Use an anti rush weapon
    [Best anti rush weapon is Ice Sickle]
  • Use a wall penetration weapon [Best wall-pierce is Stellar Tune]
  • Use a downwards-area coverage. [Betsy’s Wrath or Razorpine.]
  • Replace the Breaker Blade with the Starlight.
  • Increase your melee speed, or use Aqua scepter because both options provide more range.
  • Phoenix Blaster, Laser Rifle, and Heat Ray perform better than Stake Launcher.
  • Use Featherfall to go faster.
  • More frequently hook and use the mount.
  • Learn to cartdash. so you can dash at the top of the arena when healing at the top.
  • Increase number of weapons in your hotbar.

Getting to know your weapons

ANTI RUSH
Ice sickle: Best anti-rush in PVP. High Damage, Decent DPS, Outlasting projectiles.
Death Sickle: Louder, pierces blocks, higher projectile damage.
Crystal Storm: High damage, requires more aimming.
Bubble Gun: Low Damage, requires less aiming, outlasting projectiles.
Crystal Vile Shard: Hard to aim, Insane Damage

FORWARDS AREA COVERAGE
Bat Scepter: Very spammy, good area coverage.
Nebula Blaze: Harder to use, good damage.
Demon Scythe: Extremely hard to use, insane damage.
Tome of Infinite Wisdom: Two attacks, great damage, large secondary attack
Tactical Shotgun: Insane velocity, decent damage, spammy

DOWNWARDS AREA COVERAGE:
Betsy’s Wrath: Good damage, multi-hits
Razorpine: Poor damage, hits rapidly, good aerial velocity
Aerial Bane: Great damage, higher velocity than Betsy’s Wrath, single-hits.

WALL-PIERCE
Stellar Tune: Great DPS, Fast, requires aiming with mouse.
Blizzard Staff: Good DPS, Spammy, Niche
Meteor Staff: Spawns less projectiles than Blizzard but has more damage
Flying Dragon: Good area coverage, poor projectile velocity
Terrarian: Great DPS, Fast, takes skill to use, requires aiming with mouse’
Daedaleus Stormbow: Only good ranged wall-pierce.

The only point-blank weapon you should use is the Starlight.

CLOSE-RANGE:
Paladin’s Hammer: Good DPS, Very accurate
Possessed Hatchet: Great DPS, Hard to aim
Light Disc: High Range, Good DPS, Hard to aim
Aqua Scepter: Insane range, good dps, good at mid-range as well.
Flamethrower/Elf Melter: Mediocre damage, good area coverage

MID-RANGE:
Hallowed Repeater: Insane damage, hard to aim
Daybreak: Larger projectile, less damage, less velocity.
Clockwork Assault Rifle: Hits rapidly, decent damage

POKE:

Sniper Rifle: Great damage, Good DPS, good velocity
Combat Wrench: Retractable, good damage, good velocity
Eventide: Low damage, spammable, very big area coverage
Tsunami: Good area coverage and performance, poor velocity
Heat Ray: Great DPS, Hitscan
Laser Rifle: More DPS than Heat Ray, not hitscan.

Legolas said I need to stay at low number of weapons to get used to switching, until I can use seven weapons.

Can you explain me how this makes me faster, when I if I forget to press R to mount downwards, fall down faster without ff potion? If I forgot the mount then I must concentrate also on the S key which takes attention to the weapon keys (1 2 3 4 5 Q Y X C V; italic is there is no weapon atm and Y is on the bottom left corner in the German keyboard)
