I had a character that had crew on my old computer, but my old computer is broken and everything on it is gone, including the character. I tried creating a new character and getting crew, but it wouldn’t let me use my Steam account. Could someone give me some advice?

Characters aren’t accounts.
You can still login to your old account with a new character, assuming it has the same name as your account. You can use /rename to change your character name on /rift.
