Type something in the in-game chat and see if your text is blue and has a [Member] title. If it’s blue and has the [Member] title, you are already logged in.

After you do /register <password>, you have to wait some amount of time before you gain the permission to use /login <password> to become a Member.
That is, unless you’ve already logged-on to your account and already become a Member as 0reg0n said previously.
