it could be because of an anti cheat because i read these kinds of things alot, and this seems like an anticheat thing.
also its a quarter of a gold so selling 400 Apples = 1 platinum = very bad for survival

are you getting the money from selling it? because if not I think it could be because the npc is too happy so your apple will just get returned and you don’t get the money
also i dont think you can duplicate it, even though an apple was shown if shop, if you try buying it, it won’t work
